We stayed at the Oasis Resorts in Palm Springs, California, this past Christmas Holiday. The rental was for 7 days. We arrived late at night, and there was a very pleasant desk clerk who checked us in. He was very helpful and informative, describing the resort and its amenities, as well as giving a quick overview of the Palm Springs area.
The condo itself was neither cramped nor overly spacious, comfortable enough for the four of us - my wife and I , our teenage daughter and teenage son - and their electronics! There was the master bedroom with a king-size bed and private bath, a second bedroom, a second bathroom and a pull-down bed in the living room. The kitchen was well-equipped for a family to cook their meals (read: save some money!), and there was a cozy, bright breakfast nook adjacent to the kitchen. The dining area was roomy and adequate - a basic glass table and four chairs. We had a private one-car garage, and each unit included 2 cruiser bikes, which our kids rode to patrol the premises.
The resort itself had 8 pools and jacuzzi areas We were closest to the front office and, as it turned out, had access to the largest pool in the resort. The pool was basically outside our back porch, and we went everyday for a refreshing dip followed by a relaxing sit in the hot tub. After playing 18 holes, it was just what the doctor ordered!
Although there was no room service at all - we had to do our own laundry, make our own beds and take out the trash - we didn't mind. It actually added to the privacy, and I would say that was a worthwhile sacrifice.
